Ghana – Community based health volunteer Peter Owusu talks to mothers in the village of Ado Nkwanta village in Ghana’s Eastern Region about the benefits of pneumococcal and rotavirus vaccines. He reassures them these new vaccines will work well with the immunisations their babies already receive.

Since the first human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine demonstration project in Kenya in 2013, an estimated 1 million girls have been vaccinated with Gavi support – a figure expected to rise to 30 million by the end of 2020. Gavi has already started to fund national HPV programmes in Rwanda and Uganda.
