Evaluation of GAVI's Injection Safety Support

This report presents the findings of an evaluation commissioned by the GAVI Alliance to analyze the sustainability of its Injection Safety (INS) support. In 2002, GAVI started providing INS support to national immunization programs to introduce or increase the use of Auto-Disable (AD) syringes. The support came in two forms: 1) in-kind, in the form of AD syringes and safety boxes, and 2) in cash, for those countries that already had a secure, multi-year source of AD syringes and safety boxes, but proposed to use INS support for other injection safety activities.

Evaluation of the Accelerated Development and Introduction Plans and the Hib Initiative: Summary, recommendations and follow up

While it is difficult to assess the absolute impact the ADIPs have had given the lack of a counterfactual, one could compare the status of rotavirus and pneumococcal conjugate vaccines today, poised to enter the GAVI market, with the status of Hib at the same stage in its life cycle to see the impact the ADIPs have had. Even if one were to compare the programme readiness of Hib four years ago, when the ADIPs were started, to the programme readiness today of rotavirus and pneumococcal conjugate vaccines, it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that there has been a contribution of the ADIPs to this process.

Evaluation of the first five years of GAVI Immunisation Services Support funding

As GAVI enters its second phase, it is interested in evaluating whether ISS funding continues to further GAVI's objectives, and how best to maximise any positive impact.
