Cholera Roadmap Public Summary

Gavi is funding the procurement of oral cholera vaccine from 2014-2018 via the existing cholera vaccine stockpile, managed by the International Coordination Group (ICG). This document is the public summary of the supply and procurement roadmap for cholera vaccine, which supports the Alliance’s efforts to achieve our market shaping goal – to shape vaccine markets to ensure adequate supply of appropriate, quality vaccines at low and sustainable prices for developing countries.

Pneumococcal vaccine roadmap: public summary

From 2010 to 2014, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance support to increase access to vaccines against Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus) has led to major achievements:

  • The first introductions of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs: PCV10 and PCV13) in Gavi-eligible countries occurred two years after their first introductions in high-income countries.
  • The manufacturing capacity available to the Vaccine Alliance increased from under 20 million doses in 2010 to over 100 million in 2014.
