As the biggest foundation in Spain and the third largest in the world, “la Caixa” Foundation plays a key role in the fight against child mortality and the most important humanitarian causes all over the planet. With a budget of €500 million per year, they lead the way in social action, research, education and culture. Every year the foundation supports more than 40,000 actions to help improve the lives of those who need it most and supports leading social organisations through innovative social justice initiatives that prioritise the most vulnerable groups.

In 2008, as part of its fight to end child mortality, “la Caixa” Foundation became the biggest European partner of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Since then it has helped vaccinate more than 2.5 million children, created a Spanish Business Alliance to encourage companies to contribute to global vaccination programmes and launched joint funding schemes with society and “la Caixa” employees.

This week, “la Caixa” Foundation will be curating @Vaccines, explaining how immunisation contributes to a great objective: building a better society with more opportunities.
