Created by the WHO Foundation, Go Give One, a fundraising campaign with no borders is calling on the public to help fund vaccines and increase population coverage in lower-income countries. With a donation of just US$ 5 you can get a COVID-19 vaccine dose for someone in a country that can’t afford it themselves. And you can get your company involved too, by getting the campaign in front of employees, customers and communities; and even offering to match their donations. The money is going to the Gavi COVAX Advanced Market Commitment (AMC) which funds COVID-19 vaccines for lower-income countries, starting with those who need them the most.

If you’re fortunate enough to have received your COVID-19 vaccine, why not share the freedom by donating to Go Give One, and turn a moment of gratitude into a moment of giving?

Here are 5 good reasons why you should Go Give One:

1. The global vaccine gap is growing

With a handful of rich countries rolling out the majority of vaccine doses, many countries are being left behind and are unable to vaccinate their populations. Some 95 countries have yet to vaccinate 10% of their population, and 39 have vaccinated less than 1%. The Gavi COVAX AMC provides a unique global solution aimed at making equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines possible. Governments are giving money to the COVAX AMC, to help end the acute phase of the pandemic. Go Give One offers you the chance to play your part!

2. Vaccinating everyone, everywhere is our quickest route to recovery

Because the virus knows no boundaries, we will only be free again from the pandemic when everyone is protected. That means vaccines for everyone, everywhere. While G7 leaders announced their commitments toward donating vaccine doses when they met last week, there is still more we can collectively do. By donating to Go Give One, you can help our people-powered vaccine movement pave the way for everyone, everywhere to be vaccinated, and inspire world leaders to choose a global response to the pandemic.

3. Help yourself and your loved ones

The pandemic has hurt us all on a personal level. We have lost many of our freedoms – freedom to see and hug those we love, to be educated, to work, to travel. As vaccines were approved, the world’s hopes collectively rose. But today many in countries who cannot afford vaccines face the reality of not getting vaccinated until later next year at the earliest; and those of us in high-income countries continue to find our freedoms curtailed. Go Give One offers a way for us all to help people around the world, while helping ourselves and our loved ones be free from COVID-19.

4. Share the freedom

If you’re fortunate enough to have received your COVID-19 vaccine, why not share the freedom by donating to Go Give One, and turn a moment of gratitude into a moment of giving?

5. Together we win

While COVID-19 still rages, there are no winners. This isn’t the time to go it alone. When individuals, companies and communities get together, amazing things happen. Working together we can vaccinate millions of people around the world, and together we can win against COVID-19. Go Give One!
