On 26 April 2012, Ghana launched two new vaccines, which will protect children against the primary cause of pneumonia and severe diarrhoea -- the two biggest killers of under-fives across the world.

The pneumococcal and rotavirus vaccines are being introduced by the Ministry of Health with support from the GAVI Alliance and its partners UNICEF, WHO and many generous donors including governments and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
