Innovative financing mechanism accelerates global roll-out of vaccine against world’s leading cause of child deaths
Pneumococcal vaccines are complex vaccines that would normally reach lower-income countries 10–15 years after their introduction in high-income countries.
Thanks to the Pneumococcal Advance Market Commitment, today children in 60 Gavi-eligible countries are being immunised against the main cause of pneumonia.
Pneumococcal AMC annual report
The 2020 Pneumococcal AMC Annual Report gives an overview of the activities linked to the implementation of the pilot Advance Market Commitment from 1 January to 31 December 2020.
It was developed by the AMC Secretariat at Gavi, in collaboration with the World Bank and UNICEF’s Supply Division.
