Gilbert Mokoki was appointed Minister of Health and Population of the Republic of Congo in May 2021.
He was previously Minister of the Special Economic Zones (2017), Minister of Tranport, Civil Aviation and Maritime Trade (2016), and Minister of Public Administration (2015).
Prior to this, from 1981 to 2012, Minister Mokoki held senior positions in the defense and security system before joining the government as Minister Delegate to the Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation and the Merchant Navy in charge of waterways and river economy.
Minister Mokoki joined the National People's Army as Career Officer in August 1971. He studied at the Technical School of Artillery in Chendjo in China; the Inter-army Military School in Cherchill, Algeria; the Military Artillery Academy in Leningrad, USSR; the American Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS); the Center for Training in Defense Management in Paris; and the Institute of Higher National Defense Studies (IHEDN) in Paris.
