The Kingdom of Morocco became a Gavi donor in December 2025, announcing a pledge of US$ 5 million for Gavi’s 2026–2030 strategic period (Gavi 6.0). This marked Morocco’s first contribution to Gavi and the largest pledge by a North African country.
The contribution reflects Morocco’s growing leadership in global health, its long-standing commitment to South-South cooperation, and its ambition to strengthen vaccine manufacturing and health security in Africa. Announcing the pledge, Minister of Health and Social Protection Amine Tehraoui emphasised that investing in vaccines is an investment in Africa’s future stability and prosperity, while reaffirming Morocco’s commitment to equitable access to immunisation.
