Guidance for all grantees

All grantees of Gavi’s CSO funding mechanism are supported with guidance and templates to best manage their grant award and increase immunisation coverage to communities.

We recommend all grantees bookmark this site to be able to access the latest version of each guidance that is available. New guidance will be added to this page over time.

Communications guidance

  • Communications guidance (PDF, 717 KB)
    This document is designed to support grantees to consider how their communications activities can be interwoven into the fabric of their project and their organisation’s outputs.
  • Stories of change (PDF, 1.6 MB)
    This document is designed to provide guidance to CSOs to develop and share positive stories of progress, impact and change. We recommend it is used alongside the central Communications guidance.
  • CSO branding requirements and exemptions guidance (PDF, 264 KB)
    This document is designed to support grantees with guidance around the appropriate use of the Gavi logo in their Gavi CSO fund manager mechanism projects. It is expected that grantees will use this document to support them to complete the CSO Branding Statement template.
  • CSO Branding Statement template (Word, 693 KB)
    All grantees are asked to download, complete, sign and return the CSO branding statement template to their Grants Manager at MannionDaniels. It is recommended that the Branding requirements and exemptions guidance is downloaded and read before completing the statement template.

    Basic guidelines for financial reporting covering Gavi CSO funding. This guidance applies to all applicants and grantees regardless of country of implementation.

    This document presents financial guidelines for Gavi CSO funding. It covers the classification system of Gavi budgets, and the methodologies used in calculating the expenditure of grants. This guidance applies to all applicants and grantees regardless of country of implementation.

    This document presents operational guidelines on the treatment of foreign currency denominated transactions and appropriate methodologies for the budgeting, recording, and management of exchange rate fluctuations. This guidance applies to all applicants and grantees regardless of country of implementation.

Grant set-up

  • Example Grant Agreement template (PDF, 476 KB)
    Grant Agreements are the contractual documents which enable Gavi funds to be disbursed to successful applicants. The Grant Agreement outlines an organisation’s grant disbursement schedule, reporting schedule, approved bank account details and any recommendations agreed during the due diligence and pre-award processes.

    This document outlines in detail, the process that needs to be followed to apply for and manage a grant. This guidance applies to all applicants and grantees regardless of country of implementation.
  • Technical guidance: GESI, Localisation, Learning and Risk (PDF, 202 KB)
    As part of a grant application, a Project Workbook should be completed to support project design. This guidance document provides additional support on integrating gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) into your proposed project. Localisation, learning and risk management are also key considerations featured in this guidance and something we expect all applications to demonstrate. This guidance applies to all applicants and grantees regardless of country of implementation.

    This technical guidance document provides high-level information to ensure grantees are familiar with their project’s technical reporting requirements. It includes the types of reports they are expected to submit, how these reports will be used, report assessment criteria, reporting frequencies, and how to prepare and submit project reports.

    Safeguarding is more than a compliance issue – it is an important value we should all uphold in our work, especially with children and adults-at-risk. This guidance applies to all applicants and grantees regardless of country of implementation.
