Arsen Torosyan was appointed as the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia on 12 May 2018. He has been the Director of the group of social workers at the (non-governmental organisation) NGO Real World, Real People. He has been the Coordinator of family medicine and medical care quality for the Primary Healthcare Reform Programme. He was the Acting Director of the National Center for Tuberculosis Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia and subsequently Director of “MIBS” Medical Diagnostic Center. Minister Torosyan served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, earning the rank of Lieutenant of medical service. He studied medicine at Yerevan State Medical University. He also studied at the National Institute of Health of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia, specialising in social hygiene and health administration, as well as completing a postgraduate course specialising in public health and healthcare management.
