Charlemagne Marie Ragnag-Néwendé Ouedraogo, is Minister of Health of Burkina Faso since January 2021. He was an obstetrician gynecologist at the University Hospital and was in charge of reproductive health of the district team of sector n°30 of Bogodogo and President of the regional council of the order of physicians of Ouagadougou.
Minister Ouedraogo teaches gynecology and obstetrics at the Joseph KI-ZERBO and Saint Thomas D'Aquin Universities and provides clinical supervision of hospital internships for medical students. He is in charge of teaching various degree courses in Master of Public Health, Inter-University Diploma in Reproductive Health and Midwives and State Metricians.
Minister Ouedraogo was Director of Medical and Technical Services of the Bogodogo University Hospital, President of the Burkinabe coalition of associations fighting against cancer (COBUCAN) and President of the National Council of the Order of Physicians of Burkina Faso from November 2018 to January 2021. He has also served as a consultant in several countries in the context of inter-country support in the field of reproductive health, including the development of WHO/HRP operational research projects, Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC)/UNFPA/ACCESS training, the needs assessment for EmONC ACCESS/JHPIEGO/UNICEF, Monitoring of trained providers and updating of the EmONC training module, Introduction and Audit of Maternal Deaths and Complementary Analysis of the Reproductive Health Commodity Security Situation in Burkina Faso, UNFPA - DSF.
