
An Vermeersch is Chief Vaccine Programmes & Markets Officer (CVPMO) at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. In this role, An oversees the Vaccine Programmes & Markets Department, which includes the Vaccine Markets & Health Security, Vaccine Programmes, and Policy teams.
With more than 25 years’ experience at GSK and McKinsey & Company, An brings extensive expertise in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, particularly in vaccines. At GSK, An held global roles across commercial, finance, supply chain, research & development, and strategy & transformation.
Beginning in 2016 and until her arrival at Gavi, An held leadership positions in public and global health at GSK, including as a member of the Vaccines Executive Team. As Vice President, Head of Global Health Access, An led GSK Access activities and partnerships, covering malaria, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases (NTD) and vaccines access programmes.
In addition, An led GSK’s engagement with Gavi and other global health stakeholders. She served on the Gavi Board, representing the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA); and on Gavi’s Programme and Policy Committee (PPC).
An holds a master’s degree in bio-engineering in microbiology and biochemistry from the University of Ghent and a master of business administration from the Vlerick Business School in Belgium.
