Dear Comic Relief Partners,
I am writing to express my appreciation for the grant that Comic Relief has awarded to the GAVI Alliance. The funds you have committed will help enable GAVI to meet ambitious goals over the next three years to immunise a quarter of a billion children and save nearly four million lives in 57 of the poorest countries in the world.
The relationship with Comic Relief extends beyond the grant awarded. In spite of the scale of GAVI's support, it remains relatively unknown to the general public. The commitment that Comic Relief has made to tell the story of immunisation – its impact and effectiveness – is simply invaluable.
Our team has been working closely with your staff over the last eight months and have gained the greatest respect for their dedication, professionalism and creativity. Together with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the UK Department for International Development, we look forward to continuing this partnership and to protecting the lives of many more children.
