The Gavi 5.0/5.1 learning priorities (LPs) are a set of questions that respond to the Gavi 5.0/5.1 strategy shifts and have clear use cases, for example to influence policies or programmes. The development of LPs began in 2019 with discussions across the Vaccine Alliance and in preparation for the Gavi 5.0/5.1 strategic period (2021–2025).
The LPs provide an overarching framework by which more specific evidence needs and activities can be articulated and prioritised for funding by Gavi and Alliance partners, including at country level through countries’ monitoring and learning plans, and by other donors and partners. Sharing the LPs is intended to create opportunities to bring together learning from across Gavi teams, Alliance partners, countries and other partners, to avoid duplication and ensure complementarity.
Some of these questions are appropriate to be answered through Gavi’s centralised evaluation work; more information is available here.
For more learning on key topics such as ‘zero-dose’ children, gender and digital health, visit the following links:
We encourage other donors and partners to use these questions to inform their own work, as well as to share their findings. The experience development LPs, using the framework to guide investments and organise results, will be reviewed and refined in advance of the Gavi 6.0 strategic period (2026–2030).
This page will be updated as appropriate to provide visibility on other learning and results from across the Alliance in support of the 5.0/5.1 strategy.
