Kristine Husøy Onarheim is Senior Advisor in the Section for Food Security, Global Health and Education, in the Department for Sustainable Development within the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dr Onarheim’s portfolio covers pandemic preparedness and response, immunisation, health system strengthening, global health architecture and other global health issues. Dr Onarheim is a medical doctor by training and holds a PhD in Global Health Priority Setting from the University of Bergen, Norway. Prior to joining the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2020, Dr Onarheim conducted research on priority setting, policy making and governance in global health at the University of Bergen, University College London, and Harvard University. As a medical doctor, she has clinical experience from Norway, Ethiopia and India.
