Deena Shiff is an experienced and highly regarded non-executive director with a successful executive career in the communications and technology industry. As Group Managing Director at Telstra Ltd, she set up and managed Telstra Ltd’s corporate venture capital arm, Telstra Ventures.
She is currently a Non-Executive Director on the board of ProMedicus Ltd, an Australian listed health software company with operations in Germany and the US; the Chair of the space technology accelerator, AROSE; the Chair of the Care Economy Cooperative Research Centre; the Chair of Australian Telecommunication Alliance and the Chair of the International Advisory Board of the Australian Research Centre of Excellence on Automated Decisions and Society. She is also Deputy Chair of Opera Australia.
Ms Shiff has advised the Australian Government as a director of Infrastructure Australia; as Deputy Chair of the Export Credit Agency, EFIC and as the Chair of the Broadband Advisory Council. She has also been the Chair of a number of international digital infrastructure and e-commerce companies.
Ms Shiff began her career as a lawyer in both the UK and Australia. She has been a partner at Mallesons, Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons), as well as an in-house and government counsel. She has a B.Sc (Econ) from the London School of Economics and a B.A (Law) from the University of Cambridge.
