Raymonde Goudou Coffie

Raymonde Goudou Coffie has been the Minister of Health of Côte d’Ivoire since November 2012 and a member of the Gavi Board representing the francophone and lusophone constituencies since 2016. She has devoted much of her working life to the promotion of women in decision-making positions in the political, economic and social domains.

Before assuming the role of Minister of Health, Minister Goudou Coffie was in charge of the Ministry for Family, Women and Children (2011–2012) and prior to that served as Technical Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Recreation (2000–2002). Throughout she has been involved in humanitarian work, focusing on women’s rights and their participation in conflict resolution. She has co-founded several NGOs and other charitable and social associations, which focus on both the welfare of the most vulnerable population groups and the development of regions that are economically and socially disadvantaged.

Minister Goudou Coffie obtained her pharmacy degree from the University of Caen (France). She has received numerous honours, including Officer of the Order of National Merit of Côte d’Ivoire; Officer of the National Order of Health; Commander in the Order of Malta; Commander in the Order of Health; Commander in the Order of Solidarity, and one of the Rotary Club’s highest awards, the Paul Harris Fellowship.
