Gabriella Fésüs

Head of Unit, Social Inclusion and Protection, Health and Demography, DG International Partnerships, The European Commission

Gabriella Fésüs is head of unit in charge of health, demography, social inclusion and social protection and the centre of expertise for inequalities at the European Commission, Directorate-General for International Partnerships. She is a member of the Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Prior to that, Dr Fésüs was in charge of the political and interinstitutional coordination unit and has been policy assistant to the Director General in the Directorate General for Regional Policy.

She has worked at the Hungarian Ministry of Health on strategic planning of investments and on health and social programs in Sub-Saharan Africa and Central America. Dr Fésüs holds a PhD in public health from the University of Debrecen and Masters degrees from the Budapest University of Economics and from the College of Europe in Bruges.
