At the Gavi COVAX AMC Summit on 2 June 2021, the UBS Optimus Foundation pledged a minimum of US$ 2.2 million to the Gavi COVAX AMC to help vulnerable communities in lower-income countries access COVID-19 vaccines during the pandemic. This was the first time that UBS had contributed to Gavi. The pledge came along with a dedicated revolving fundraising campaign reaching out to groups of philanthropists around the world.
