Austrian development collaboration emphasises private sector involvement, gender equality, human security and support for multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This fits well with Gavi’s contributions to 14 of the 17 SDGs, its engagement with corporations, its renewed support for gender equality and the Gavi COVAX AMC.

Austria, represented by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), became a donor to Gavi in March 2021 with a contribution to the Gavi COVAX AMC of €2.4 million, which was topped up by another €5.1 million in 2022 at the COVAX AMC Summit, reaching a total of €7.5 million (US$ 8.6 million).
