Toyota Tsusho, a trading arm of Toyota Group, donated 100 million yen to the Gavi COVAX AMC, and five refrigerated vaccine transport vehicles.

The refrigerated vaccine transport vehicles obtained Performance, Quality and Safety (PQS) prequalification from WHO and were introduced in five countries in Africa through Gavi. Due to its ability to travel through rough and narrow road networks, the Vaccine Land Cruiser can maintain the cold chain until it reaches the health post. The vehicle’s internal shelving will also provide a safe, vial breakage-free transportation for the vaccines.
