In 2020, Reed Hastings, global entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of Netflix, and Patty Quillin donated US$ 30 million to support the Vaccine Alliance’s response to COVID-19 and help protect the world against new outbreaks of other infectious diseases. 

The support of Hastings and Quillin came at a crucial time for global public health, as the COVID-19 pandemic was quickly taking hold in lower-income countries.
